KUKSA, geschnitzt aus Lindenholz

KUKSA, carved drinking cup. Kuksa (guksi, kåsa) is a type of drinking cup traditionally crafted by the Sami people of northern Scandinavia from birch burl (growth on a tree). Birch burl kuksas last longer than plain birch kuksas and a well-made one would last a lifetime. Kuksa was traditionally only rinsed with clean water and dried with a cloth after use. No detergents are used, since many people believe that it will damage this beautiful drinking cup.
